Natural Beauty: LaLicious Bath and Body Care

By Melissa Barlow on March 19th, 2010

This time of year my skin goes into an uproar.  You see, I have eczema and when it flares up, I have to be extremely careful about what I use on my skin and usually switch to more natural products while it heals to avoid scarring. I’ve recently discovered LaLicious, a natural bath and body line that uses “only the finest and most natural ingredients and is free of harsh preservatives or ingredients, such as parabens and sulfates.”  Well, anyone who has skin problems knows just how irritating sulfates are on dry, itchy skin and that scrubbing is a big no-no but with the LaLicious line of products you can still treat yourself to a little luxury without hurting sensitive skin.

The LaLicious line offers a full line on body care in 8 different scents that you can mix and match however you want with the most popular product being their super hydrating sugar scrubs. Utilizing sugar, almond oil, and vitamin E, these scrubs are so emollient that you can even skip moisturizer without feeling greasy or dry. The almond oil was especially soothing on the angry red patches.  Also, I didn’t actually scrub the areas but applied and then rinsed it off to get the essential oil benefits.  I was impressed at how hydrated my angry skin felt after application.

Along with the scrubs, Lalicious also offers body oils, body butters and body soaps that also are paraben and sulfate-free. I am really interested in trying the body soaps but the apothecary was out of the scent I wanted (Lily Mango) so I can’t tell you for sure that it rocks.  But if it works as well as the sugar scrub, it will be well worth the return trip to the store. This is probably one of the best natural bath and body lines I’ve tried which is saying a lot since I tend to be prejudiced to most natural lines that I’m not already familiar with.
