Palin’s Reality Show is Happening

It’s official: it’s been greenlit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Palin has just inked a deal with Discovery networks for eight episodes of Sarah Palin’s Alaska, which will air on TLC. Documentary filmmaker and producer Mark Burnett will be in charge of the filming side.

She will be getting just under the $1 million/episode she was looking for.

At this point, I’m not entirely sure what the bent of the show is going to be. I would think it would just be Sarah Palin going around being an offensive hatemongering crazy numbskull, but then I read her quote and get confused. Says Palin: “Our family enjoys Discovery’s networks. I look forward to working with Mark to bring the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans.”

It would seem that the bread and butter to any Sarah Palin reality show would be, well, Her Horribleness, but that quote makes it sound like she’s doing an Alaskan tourism show.

Either way, I think it is possible this is a good thing. I mean, had I my druthers, she would die in a fiery and also very painful plane crash and cease being able to have a stage with which to pollute the minds and hearts of the less intelligent.

However, minus that possibility, having her set her sights on reality TV is far less bothersome to me than her being in politics. It’s clear she’s in it for the money and the fame, and I guess you can’t really blame her. If she can tame that beast outside of politics, all the better.

I still wish she’s just go away, though.
