Anna Paquin has announced that she’s bisexual. According to E News, the True Blood star revealed the news while taping a public service announcement for the True Colors Fund, an advocacy group dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. “I’m Anna Paquin. I’m bisexual, and I give a damn,” she told the camera. She added, “One hate crime is committed approximately every hour of every day in this country.” Check out the video:
The theme of the campaign is “Give a Damn” and other celebrities participating include Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Nixon, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Kim Kardashian, Clay Aiken, and Wanda Sykes. The group was founded by Cyndi Lauper. You can find out more info at WeGiveaDamn.org.
Anna isn’t the only star who declares her sexuality in the video, but she is the only one whose orientation was a bit of a surprise. Sorry, ladies: she’s off the market. The 27 year-old announced her engagement to fellow True Blood star Stephen Moyer back in August.
In 2009, Anna won a Golden Globe in for her performance as Snookie Stackhouse in True Blood. She also won an Oscar for her performance in The Piano in 1994 at the age of 11, making her the second-youngest winner in history.
