Jennifer Hudson Becomes WeightWatchers Spokeswoman

Jennifer Hudson is lending her Dreamgirl status to WeightWatchers. According to The Huffington Post, the Oscar winning actress and singer has signed to become the new rep for the weight-loss company. The announcement was made Thursday, and you’ll begin seeing her in ads this Sunday.

Jennifer recently lost weight after the birth of her first child, a son. She says that WeightWatchers is “a lifestyle change, not a diet.” WeightWatchers champions the concept of moderation, allowing its members to eat anything they like as long as they log the nutritional facts and balance their diets with “filling foods” like fruits and vegetables. Users track their food intake with a Points system that ranks foods based on calories, fat and fiber. Though you technically don’t need to exercise to lose weight with the plan, dieters can earn extra points for activity.

WeightWatchers can be followed completely online, with a system for logging points, email tips, recipes, message boards and more. However, they still offer the in-person meetings they’ve been holding for decades.

In February, Jennifer lent her mug to a Got Milk? ad, championing the importance of milk as part of a new mom’s healthy diet. She also took part in the recording of  ”We Are The World – 25 For Haiti.”

  1. I can’t believe how much weight Jennifer’s lost! I read here (http://www.diets24h.com) about what she’s eating and can’t imagine how she lost so much weight. Either way, congrats!
