Weekend Movie Preview: “Clash of the Titans” and “Why Did I Get Married Too?”

Spring is in the air and romance is at the movies this weekend. If you’re looking for a chance to snuggle up to your beau in a dark theatre, and you can’t get him to budge on a romantic comedy, have no fear. “Clash of the Titans” is here to save your date night with action-packed adventure with a twist of romance that may actually fool him into thinking you had him in mind when you picked the film.

As a kid, the original “Clash of the Titans” was one of my favorite movies. Mythology and fantasy blend well together in this epic film remake starring Liam Neesan, Sam Worthington and Alexa Davalos. Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus, must save the world from Hades, but the only way for him to do so is to accept the power within him. One of the perks of this remake is that it’s in 3-D, which promises to bring all the monster bashing goodness right into the theatre with you.

Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too?” (PG-13) explores the relationships of four couples who meet every year in the Bahamas for vacation. When one woman’s ex-husband shows up to try and destroy her new marriage, all of the couples realize that despite their love for one another, all relationships are vulnerable in the face of everyday challenges.

An early release this week, “The Last Song” (PG), kicked off in theatres Wednesday, March 31. Adapted from a Nicholas Sparks novel, “The Last Song” tells the story of a young girl (Miley Cyrus) and her estranged father who try to reconnect with each other over summer vacation. Their mutual love for music holds the power to bring them back together, but resentment and fear make it difficult for them to reestablish a bond.

Hopefully the Easter Bunny remembers to put tickets to the theatre in your basket this weekend.
