Amazon.com, Netflix and the rapidly-growing carnivorous restaurant chain, Buffalo Wild Wings also showed growth throughout the recession. Coincidentally, Buffalo Wild Wings not only defies the economy, but also laughs in the face of the obesity crisis by offering the most fattening meal of any chain restaurant around today. Is that what’s making the company so successful? Probably not. However, when it comes to the food joints on the list, nice decor, friendly service and low prices have been the keys to their success.
Along with the success of these 10 companies, retail spending in March was up. But why should we care about the success of these stores? After all, the unemployment rate remains at 9.7% with millions out of work. Increased retail spending can renew confidence in the market. The production of goods picks up, Wall Street takes notice and things can turn around. And that’s what we’re all hoping for.
