Sex Addiction’s Surprising Opponent: Hugh Hefner

The dudes over at South Park aren’t the only ones who think sex addiction is bogus. According to The Huffington Post, Hugh Hefner thinks the “disease” is a copout. When Las Vegas columnist Norm asked him if he thinks Tiger Woods can overcome his playboy transgressions, Hef said, ”He can if he wants to. But this whole idea that it’s a sex addiction is a copout. Some people become obsessed with sex, but it’s not like an alcohol or drug addiction. He did it because he could get away with it.”

Hef, who celebrated his 84th birthday in Vegas this weekend, also had some choice words for Sandra Bullock’s infamous husband Jesse James. He told Page Six, “When you get married, you make a commitment. I had a lot of girlfriends, but it’s not the same as cheating. I don’t cheat. I am very open about what I do…Sandra Bullock’s husband looks like a real creep. I think that when you are in a relationship, you should be honest. The real immorality of infidelity is the lying.”

I may not agree with Hef’s choice to go around with lots of different “girlfriends,” but he makes a good point. Hef has always been open and honest about his actions, and his girlfriends know exactly what they’re getting into. On the other hand, Michelle Bombshell McGee recently apologized to Sandra Bullock, saying that they were both “duped” by Jesse.
