Emmanuelle Chriqui, Colbie Caillat, Kara DioGuardi & Others Get Naked in Allure

Allure magazine has revealed its 5th annual Naked Truth issue, and the five celebs chosen to bare it all are Emmanuelle Chirqui, Colbie Caillat, Kara DioGuardi, Regina Hall and Jessica Capshaw. The stars also revealed their views on beauty, body image and diet and exercise regimens.

“This shoot was less about beauty than about taking a risk and showing people a side of me they never have seen,” says American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. She was proud to have the confidence to strip down for the camera after struggling with binge eating and depression in her early 20s. “Back then I was a size 6 or 8; now I’m more like a size 2.” (Wow, I’m not even going to comment on “binge eating” making someone a giant 6 or 8.) “Food is not what I use to anesthetize myself anymore.” Kara didn’t do anything drastic to prepare for the shoot, but she did cut back on salt. “I can really retain water,” she says.

“Some women want bigger breasts,” said Emanuelle Chirqui, ”But [I wish] I could have had a dancer’s body. I sometimes wear plunging necklines because they make me feel smaller.” At the shoot, she was on day four of a ten-day organic-food “cleanse,” but not to drop pounds. “It’s not about losing weight. I didn’t want to feel freaked out about today, so I consciously kept focusing on excitement.”

The issue – which is bound to excite men and depress women – hits newsstands April 20.
