Crystal Bowersox, one of American Idol’s favorites to win this season isn’t as much of a fan of her musical talents as the millions voting for her every week.
While thousands and thousands of aspiring singers are turned down from the competition every year, Bowersox, who has a clear shot of victory isn’t embracing the competition at all.
In fact, two weeks ago Crystal actually quit the show – until Ryan Seacrest convinced her to stay.
“In front of several people, Crystal told Ryan she couldn’t handle the competition,” a source told TMZ.com. “She said she hated the attention and said to Seacrest, “What’s the point?”
Crystal said she was going back to Ohio to be with her family, whom she missed terribly.”
Ryan eventually talked Crystal into staying by telling her she’ll make millions as a musician, maybe even enough to buy her mom a house. After a while of negotiation, Crystal agreed to continue the competition.
I’m sure all of the contestants miss their families terribly but if everyone threw in the towel like Crystal there wouldn’t be much of a show, would there?
How much this news will affect the singer’s progression on the show is uncertain, but I’m sure we’ll find out next week.
If she can’t handle the pressure now, what is she going to do when she actually has to stand on her own two feet in the industry?
Nobody wants to vote for an ungrateful bitch contestant, Crystal. Be careful, actions speak louder than words.

I hope Crystal wins. She gets my vote. If and when she is voted off that’s when I don’t bother watching the show for the rest of the season. I think that Lilli getting voted off is why the ratings are slipping this season. There’s alot of people that watch the show that never pick up the phone. They are the people that stop watching when their favorite leaves the show.
What 15-year-old wrote this? What kind of person would imply that one of the singers is a bitch–oops, didn’t mean that, slash it—and then call her ungrateful because she had a moment.

Crystal will still get my vote too! I think you are misunderstanding her dislike of “competing” musically with her new friends and the pressure/hurt that brings.
Music is usually a collaborative effort, rather than a competition. I believe that is what Crystal would prefer. In other words… the EXACT OPPOSITE of the word Bitch, which you so freely threw at someone you DO NOT KNOW.
Crystal will still get my vote. You as a writer certainly would never get my vote.

I think Crystal is wonderful and I totaly understand her missing her family. If the family’s were flown out halfway thru the season, I think it would help all the singers. And Idol could certainly afford to do that!
Crystal is a friend of mine, and far from a bitch and is grateful for all that has come into her life. I wouldn’t normally respond to this kind of unintelligent, inconsiderate writing, but couldn’t help myself. Being away from one’s child, family and friends is difficult. Making friends and then competing against them and watching them go home is difficult. She is doing this because she is an amazing artist, devoted mother and a great person. Write facts, report on current events, but strive to be compassionate, truthful and smart. Otherwise…in Crystal’s words… “What’s the point?!”
Since when did the true meaning of the word “bitch” become Beautiful, Intelligent, Talented, Charismatic, and Happy??? And that’s not a definition – it’s taking a word (bitch) and making an acronym out of it.
In any case, the young lady doesn’t deserve to be called a bitch simply because she doesn’t enjoy being competitive and admitted as much.
Crystal is fantastic! I see the hurt in her eyes every time someone she has gotten close to has to leave the show. She is original and tries to be true to herself. She is right up there with Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson as being deserving of the term American Idol.
Hang in there Crystal, you are already the American Idol…Everyone in American that has any music savvy knows that…We love you…You are our favorite part of the show every week…Can’t wait to see what you do next…
Oh, come on. Calling her ungrateful and a harsh name is absolutely ridiculous. What women really want is to be given the benefit of the doubt. Grow up AAyles!

I think you’re right! Why are all these people jumping to her defense – she has the opportunity of a lifetime and this is how she reacts to it? I think she needs to grow up and those opposing the blogger here should understand that to make it in that field takes guts and dedication – she just has a big gut but no gusto.
This is going to help her more than hurt her. I suspect the majority of people will find crystal’s authenticism attractive and refreshing amongst the superficial backdrop that is American Idol…of which is only paralleled by the lack of substance in this article and author’s base grasp of the English language.
Almost walking away from everything makes me respect her more. The lure of what she could do for her family kept her there when just for herself she was willing to walk away from it all. That in no way makes her a bitch. I expect the bitches have no problem staying in the game.
Not that she needs my backing but Crystal ROX! Call her a bitch- she’s a ROCKIN BITCH! Call her ungrateful, immature whatever! She is talented, humble and respectable! MaMa SOX has been my fav since the beginning! I think it’s awesome she has strong family values. Because before and after all the fame and fortune and work and dedication. She will still have her family. And no amount of money can make your family love you the way they do.

i’m not at all clear why anyone should be “grateful” to american idol, when it’s american idol that should be grateful to the contestants who are willing to expose themselves to a huge audience, yes, but also to the generally unhelpful and often brutal and not necessarily productive advice of the judges.
crystal? she is already on the way to being one of the greats and is a very centered and together young woman.
we don’t know the truth about what is going on behind the scenes at AI. until we do, it is silly and mean spirited to target crystal or anyone else with such language and sentiments.
