Jeremy London, former Party of Five hottie, revealed his prescription drug addiction to People magazine this week, stating his addiction cost him his family and career.
Known for roles as brooding Griffin of POF, Chandler Hampton of squeaky-clean 7th Heaven and Quint of Mallrats, London moved to Los Angles with twin brother Jason in 1993 and landed roles that put him squarely in teen idol territory. (Truth? I wanted desperately to be Julia Salinger every week.)
While Jeremy’s career skyrocketed, he confessed that he began to abuse drugs; and when his marriage to actress Melissa Cunningham ended, London hit bottom. The former star said he felt like he was losing everything. He admits, “There were times I didn’t care if I died.”
Today, things are looking better for the former teen heartthrob. To prove he could be a good father to his 3-year-old son Lyric, the 37-year old completed rehab in 2009. With treatment, London says, “I’m learning it’s much easier to deal with life with a clear head.”
Now, with several projects in the works, Jeremy London is out to remind people why he was so popular in the 90s.
