Save Japan Dolphins!
The Save Japan Dolphins petition is asking President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Japanese Ambassador to the U.S Ichiro Fujisaki to address the annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan.
Led by campaign Director Ric O’Barry, Savejapandolphins.org wants to expose the terrible secret of the dolphin slaughter and raise awareness in Japan about the practice and the risk it poses to the public’s safety.
O’Barry was a key figure in The Cove, a 2009 Academy Award nominated documentary that exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins each year and shows the mercury tainted meat in Japanese grocery stores.
Says O’Barry, “If we can spread the word around the world – and especially in Japan – we can expose the secret of Taiji and force the Japanese government to stop it. We can win this issue – but we need your help!”
