Miranda Lambert’s Engagement Ring is “Perfect”
Miranda Lambert is making a lot of girls jealous right now. According to People Magazine, the 26 year-old country star just got engaged to adorable “hillbilly” singer Blake Shelton, 33, and he was the perfect Southern gentleman.
“He called my dad and got his blessing first,” Miranda said of Blake’s surprise proposal on May 9. “That was so Southern and old-school and perfect.”
Miranda was also impressed with the diamond-and-platinum engagement ring that Blake chose on his own. ”I was so proud of him,” she said. “We’ve been together five years, so he knew exactly what I wanted but it’s so much more perfect than I could have picked out myself.” If you want to see a picture of the ring, you’ll have to pick up a copy of the new issue of People, which hits newsstands this Friday, May 14.
The proposal took place in the woods near Miranda’s home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma – and it was just her style. “We had a couple of Bacardi and Diet Sprites – in a Solo cup!” she said. Adorable!
Miranda’s having a pretty fabulous year. In January she scored her first No. 1 single with “White Liar” and in April she won Album of the Year and Top Female Vocalist at the ACM Awards. Tuesday morning, she was nominated for two CMT Awards (here’s hoping that Blake’s okay with just getting one).
“2010 will not be forgotten in my world,” Miranda said. Congrats, lady!
