Today Show host Matt Lauer and his wife of 12 years, Annette Roque have reportedly called it quits due to rumors that Lauer had been caught cheating on his wife again.
Lauer is no stranger to allegations of infidelity; in 2000 his wife accused him of sleeping with a married woman right before their 1998 wedding. After years of conflict, Matt and Annette decided to divorce- only to reconcile a while later.
But now, Matt’s wondering eye has him in hot water once again. Rumors that he is cheating on his 39-year-old model wife with a 26-year-old woman are circulating the Internet this morning and have landed the pair in the middle of this week’s biggest scandal.
The rumors claim that Lauer has been cheating on his wife for the past few months with an affair that sparked during his time in Vancouver covering the winter Olympics.
Sources say Matt did not fly home to see his wife on Valentine’s Day and chose to spend his time in Vancouver instead. Reports also claim that Matt chose to extend his stay in Vancouver, after his coworkers and cameras headed back to the US after the games had ended. Sounds sketchy to us!
Matt is just another example of a man cheating on his beautiful wife because of his own insecurities and fear of getting older.
He has reportedly left the family home and the two are planning to file for divorce and raise their 3 young children separately.
We wouldn’t worry if we were Annette. Clearly, she can do better. Much better.
