Matt Lauer says he isn’t a cheater like Tiger Woods, Jesse James, Dave Letterman, John Edwards, and … do I really have to continue?
According to People Magazine, the co-host of The Today Show says the tabloid story claiming he had moved out of his family’s apartment is “a work of fiction.”
“I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple,” Lauer said in an interview from France, where he’s been co-anchoring the NBC morning show from the Cannes Film Festival. “I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.”
Matt has admitted that his 12-year marriage to Annette hasn’t always been perfect, but he says that the reports of an affair are “ridiculous” and “offensive.”
“Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No. But the stories you’ve read over the years are not true,” he explained. ”I don’t think we’re any different than any married couple that’s been together for 12 years,” he adds. “The accusations [of infidelity] are ridiculous and I’m not going to [dignify] them with an answer. It’s not true.”
For example, the National Enquirer claimed that he was out partying every night during the Vancouver Olympics. Matt claims he was actually in bed at 7:30 each night because he had to get up at 1:30 am to be ready for the broadcasts, which began at 4 am local time.
I hope it’s true! Maybe one cheating story is finally a fake.
Leave Matt and Annette alone! they are human and like they have admitted their marriage hasn’t been perfect but who’s has? Marriage is not a every day honeymoon and when kids and a career are included it only becomes more difficult. I wish them both the very best.
