Who Won Dancing with the Stars 2010: Nicole But Did She Deserve It?
The highly anticipated finale of Dancing with the Stars 2010 just wrapped up and you might (or might not) be surprised as to who won this year.
It was easy to predict from the beginning that the final two would be Nicole Scherzinger and Evan Lysacek. And because these two phenomenal dancers were so consistent throughout the entire season, it was no surprise that Erin Andrews was eliminated in the first half of tonight’s finale episode.
This season’s final two were more controversial than any other final two ever. Why? Because Nicole Scherzinger came into this competition as one of the fittest, most respected dancers and choreographers in the music industry. How could the others stand a chance against a woman who has been dancing professionally for so long? On the other hand, you have Evan Lysacek who is an Olympic figure skater who’s moves and coordination have been his strength and force for years.
Regardless of which of the final two won, there was going to be controversy. Our opinion is, if the contestants were chosen by the network to compete, you can’t fault them for using their experience and talent throughout the competition. At the same time, we can understand the hostility between the other contestants who fought so hard and had no previous experience.
In addition to the final moment where Nicole was named the top dancer of the season, other highlights included Kate Gosselin, who smiled her way through her final dance and, of course, Niecy Nash who referred to herself as a weave on a stick after her performance.
All in all a great season. I’m sure no one will argue that Nicole Scherzinger was the best dancer this season but, we have to ask, do you think she deserved to win a competition filled with dancers who had no previous experience on the floor?
