Last night’s season finale of American Idol may have crowned the wrong winner (Lee Dewyze over Crystal Bowersox?? Really?), but the show was packed with plenty of great performances. Carrie Underwood’s left something to be desired, but highlights included songs from pop icon Janet Jackson (with her new short haircut) and newly recovered Bret Michaels. Check it out:
Janet performed a medley of “Again,” “Nothing” and “Nasty,” starting slow and sweet but then launching into a fierce dance sequence. She’s still got it! I would tell Lee and Crystal to take note, but I don’t think either of them will ever venture into the pop and showmanship of artists like Janet.
Third place in this year’s Idol competition was Casey James, who returned to the stage to sing “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” with Bret Michaels. Take a look:
Aww, how cute is that? Bret looks so happy to be up there. His voice has way more of that rough, sultry rock star quality than Casey’s does, but I think they made a nice duo.
