BP CEO on Oil Spill: “I Want My Life Back”
Look guys, BP Oil CEO Tony Hayward really really wants to get this whole oil spill debacle over with so that he can get on with his life, ok?
In a most infuriating interview with Fox News, Hayward says he’s “sorry for the massive disruption” and that there is no one who wants “this thing” over more than he does, because, you know, HE’d like HIS life back.
Awesome. Way to really put this, the BIGGEST ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER EVER, into perspective for us, Tony. I’m sure everyone is so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused YOU.
Hayward, who pulled in $4.5 million last year, has a record of making ridiculously insensitive comments about the oil spill. A few choice quotes include:
“What the hell did we do to deserve this?” [New York Times, 4/30/10]
“The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume.” [Guardian, 5/14/10]
“I think the environmental impact of this disaster is likely to be very, very modest.” [Sky News, 5/18/10]
Watch this pompous jerk put both feet in his mouth, yet again.
