Jane Lynch might play a cold hearted scene-stealer on Glee, but in real life she’s just a starry-eyed newlywed with her long-time girlfriend Lara Embry.
Lynch, 49, reportedly married psychiatrist Dr. Lara Embry on Memorial Day Monday evening at the Blue Heron restaurant in Sunderland, Mass., People.com reported.
The down-to-earth star’s wedding was elegant and low-key; The happy couple exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony, in which a friend of Lynch’s reportedly thanked the State of Massachusetts for welcoming gay and lesbian couples.
“There were no celebrities or recognizable faces there,” Blue Heron restaurant co-owner Deborah Snow stated. “Lara’s daughter was there, along with close, close friends of the couple.”
After the simple wedding ceremony, guests enjoyed a dinner of striped bass, pan-seared breast of duck and truffle mushroom salad. The wedding cake was a house-made cake filled with chocolate mousse, vanilla butter cream and fresh strawberries. A four-piece jazz combo played during the reception.
“It was small, warm, intimate and very sweet,” Snow told People. “You could feel the love and friendship amongst the group.”
Sounds like a delightful wedding, and we wish the couple all the best! I just hope all this lovey-dovey stuff doesn’t soften any of Sue Sylvester’s biting humor on Glee.
