Charlie Sheen New Plea Deal: Sheen Wants No Jail Time
Charlie Sheen is looking to get a new plea deal for his Christmas Day attack on his wife, Brooke Mueller – this time one which does
not involve the actor going to jail.
Charlie’s first deal called for a month behind bars with no probation and included participation in a work release program that allowed smoking. However, Sheen was ultimately deemed ineligible for the program and is now looking to revise his sentencing.
Originally against a probationary period, Sheen is now hoping for a probation-only sentence that would avoid all jail time. Sources reveal that there are two reasons the actor now sincerely wants to avoid spending any time in the slammer. First, he feels that there is just no way he would be able to go without smoking and second, with Brooke potentially going back to rehab, he wants to be able to care for their twin boys. (Anyone else notice that the kids came second to the smoking in that statement?)
I should point out that Brooke insists that she is not going back to rehab. Her publicist told Extra, “By seeking proper guidance, she will be able to continue to resist returning to old behavior patterns. There is no shame in asking for help when it is called for. I have been informed she is doing well.”
Either way, it appears Charlie really wants to smoke – oh, and is also worried about his children.
Sources say, “Other people took care of the kids when both Charlie and Brooke were in rehab at the same time. But this time Charlie says he wants to be there for them. And he simply can’t deal without smoking so that clinches it.”
Yeah Charlie, that whole no smoking thing totally clinches it. [eye roll ]
