Robert Pattinson Related to Vlad the Impaler?

News Flash: Robert Pattinson just got a little bit sexier.

You didn’t think that was possible, did you?

Well, Ancestry.com has confirmed that the Twilight star is in fact related to the 15th century Transylvanian leader, Vlad III Dracula (or, Vlad the Impaler), who was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous novel, Dracula.

Genealogist Anatasia Tyler, said “Without any myth or magic, we find royalty and vampires lurking in Pattinson’s life – making his story just as supernatural as the one he’s playing on screen.”

In fact, it was Pattinson’s relation to the British royal family (he’s a distant cousin to Princes William and Harry) that helped Ancestry make the connection to the world’s original vampire.  Both Princes are also said to be distant nephews of Vlad.

[*swoon*]

No wonder Rob has been so convincing in his role as the regal vampire Edward in the Twilight Saga.   It’s in his blood.
