One year ago today, Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer at the age of 62.
The star first rose to international fame as private investigator Jill Monroe in Charlie’s Angels. Her hair style was emulated by millions of women across the globe from the late 1970’s through to the early 80’s.
Farrah was a pop culture icon – her poster (released the same year Charlie’s Angel’s premiered) sold a record number of copies, securing her international celebrity status.
But for those who knew her best, Fawcett will be remembered as a loving friend with a big heart.
Her Charlie’s Angels co-star Kate Jackson said, “Farrah showed immense courage and grace throughout her illness and was an inspiration to those around her… I will remember her kindness, her cutting dry wit and, of course, her beautiful smile… when you think of Farrah, remember her smiling because that is exactly how she wanted to be remembered: smiling.”
