Forbes Magazine Reveals Most Powerful Celebrities List

I hope Jay-Z is okay with being less powerful than his wife. Forbes Magazine just released its annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities, and Beyonce came in at number 2, a whole 13 spots ahead of her husband, Jay-Z. Ranked just above Avatar genius James Cameron, Beyonce earned $87 million last year.

The number one spot is no surprise: Oprah Winfrey, who will end her famed talk show next year but is launching her own cable network, OWN. (The name makes a statement, no?) Oprah made $315 million last year, though the rankings aren’t solely based on money; notoriety is a factor as well. Tiger Woods pulled in $105 million, but landed at number 5, behind Lady Gaga (who “only” made 62 million). Gaga skyrocketed this year since her weirdness is freaking EVERYWHERE.

50 Cent and Will Smith both last star power and fell off the Forbes list this year. (Maybe Will was too busy focusing on his son being the next Karate Kid?) Britney Spears is somehow still holding on at number 6, while U2 was 7, Sandra Buloock was 8, Johnny Depp was 9 and Madonna was 10.

Just squeaking by: Kate Hudson held on at 97, followed by rising late night star Chelsea Handler at 98, Ghost Whisperer Jennifer Love Hewitt at 99 and Mariska Hargitay at 100.

  1. need to see who’s the youngest on the list!

  2. silly Q, of course it’s Miley. others: Taylor Swift, Daniel Radcliffe, Jonas Bros, KStew.

  3. Yeah, Miley is 17, while Taylor is 20 (K-Stew and Daniel Radcliffe are 20 also). Lady Gaga is pretty high for being just 24, also!

Surprised Bieber’s not on the list, maybe next year?
