Twilight Eclipse Movie: It Opens Today!
While fans and critics seem to be divided on whether or not they like the movie (Eclipse has a 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ “Tomatometer.”) Twilight die-hards will no doubt be making their way to the theatre today. That is, if they haven’t already caught the midnight showing.
The latest installment of the Twilight Saga finds Bella in a position that many teenage girls (and more than a few soccer moms) would give anything to be in – forced to choose between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. I mean, Edward and Jacob.
Though it’s only opening day, Eclipse has already started breaking records. The movie has the “largest American release in box office history”, reports NME.com, with “4,416 cinemas, beating the previous record of 4,380 set less than two months ago by Iron Man.”
Eclipse is also predicted to break the record for the best opening day box office gross. Its predecessor, New Moon, currently holds that title, earning £48.4 million (about $72.5 million) after its first 24 hours in theatres.
Will you be going to the movies this weekend?
