Twilight’s Taylor Lautner on David Letterman (Watch!)
Last night Twilight’s Taylor Lautner made his Letterman debut to promote the latest film in the Twilight saga, Eclipse. Lautner plays Jacob in the Twilight series, a werewolf competing with Edward (Robert Pattinson) for the love of Bella (Kristen Stewart). Let me tell you, if you weren’t on Team Jacob before this interview, you may be now.
Taylor is incredibly charming as he and Letterman talk who would win in a fight between a werewolf and a vampire (watch Dave try and break it down below), Jacob’s shirtlessness (and amazing abs) and the many unique ways fans around the world show their devotion to the films.

Taylor goes on to mention that when transforming into a werewolf, you lose all of your clothes but the pack thoughtfully places jean shorts throughout the forest “and out of courtesy, we throw those on.”
When discussing the reactions of die-hard Twilight fans around the world, Lautner mentions “In Japan, they’re very sensitive. They cry a lot. I feel bad so I’ll touch them with one hand and assure them they’ll be alright. Then they just start crying more.” So Taylor grabs their shoulders, this time with both hands, and says “Seriously, it’s gonna be fine,” but then he says they start really bawling until eventually they just faint. “Problem solved,” he jokes.
Eclipse hit theaters earlier this week, opening on June 30 to a record number of ticket sales.
