Wow, what a difference a year can make!
Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston, the couple who had a very messy, very public breakup about a year ago, are officially back together – and are engaged!
That’s right, Bristol, 19, and Levi, 20, will be getting married, Bristol confirmed exclusively to US Weekly.
“We got engaged two weeks ago,” says Bristol. “It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents.”
In 2008, Bristol shocked her parents when she announced she was pregnant out of wedlock. Now, 2 years later, Bristol wonders what her mom will think of her engagement news.
“It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board.”
So how did Bristol and Levi reunite?
“I really thought we were over,” Levi tells the mag. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking – and then we took Tripp for a walk.”
Bristol adds “When he left that night, we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: ‘I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again’… I was in shock.”
The duo tells the magazine they have been together for three months now. Just two weeks ago, Levi issued a public apology to the Palin’s for the negative remarks he said in the past about the family.
The two plan to marry as soon as possible.
