Alexa Ray Joel, the controversial daughter of music icon Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, is appearing on today’s episode of the Howard Stern Show.
The 23-year-old singer is promoting her new single “Notice Me” from her upcoming album “All I Can Do.”
The song title is indicative of past struggles Alexa has been faced with over the past year. On December 5, 2009, a heartbroken Joel was rushed to the hospital after overdosing on aspirin.
While Alexa is adamant that the incident was not a suicide attempt, many still believe otherwise.
“I wasn’t thinking clearly at all. When you’re in that much pain you’ll just do whatever you can to get it to go away,” she says, referring to the pain she felt after her breakup with her boyfriend.
But now, 7 months later, Alexa Ray Joel insists she’s in a better place.
Her interview with Howard Stern today will reveal whether Alexa has recovered from her heartbreak.
