Jersey Shore vs. MTV: Cast On Strike!

Jersey Shore CastThe cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore have stopped filming scenes for the third season of their hit reality show, amidst a contract disputes with the network.

Radar Online reports that “the cast’s original all-for-one, one-for-all contract status” fell apart and the show’s stars had until last Friday to negotiate new deals individually.  However, none of them did, so “MTV took the position that all the cast’s original contracts were still in force at their $10,000 an episode fee.”

The only star who managed to negotiate a lucrative contract is reportedly, “The Situation” who is set to receive “a huge bonus from $60,000 – $180,000” which is dependent on season three’s ratings.  “On top of that he may get between $27,500 and $45,000 an episode for season four,” writes NDTV.

The rest of the cast, Ronnie, JWoww, Pauly D, Sammi, Vinny and Snooki were supposed to begin filming “at home” scenes today, but they have all refused until a new contract deal can be reached.

According to Radar Online, MTV has ordered the cast to return to work Monday, or else. “The ‘or else’ part is that if they don’t come back to work tomorrow, it goes to legal,” explains a source.

NDTV reports that the Jersey Shore cast feels they would be able to earn more money from public appearances that from filming the show with their current contract.

Guidette Angelina has already bounced from the show (for the second time) saying that “working conditions on the show sucked.”
