Sandra Bullock Urges Fans to Help with Gulf Oil Spill
The cap on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is holding steady for now, but an enormous amount of damage has been done. The ecosystem has been ravaged, the residents are no longer able to fish, among other things, and businesses reliant on tourism are struggling. According to E! News, Oscar winner Sandra Bullock has joined forces with celebs such as Blake Lively, Lenny Kravitz, Dave Matthews and others to encourage fans to sign a petition at restorethegulf.com demanding that leaders take the necessary steps to restore and protect the Gulf Coast in the wake of the recent oil spill. Check out the video:
“What can you offer?” asks Sandra, 45. ”Your voice. Speak up.” The video asserts that even just one person can make a difference – be the one!
Sandra has a personal connection to the region; her adopted son Louis is from New Orleans, the same city where she bought a mansion back in 2009.
