Kate Gosselin Reaches Custody Settlement with John
The epic child custody battle ended yesterday between Jon and Kate Gosselin. TMZ reports that both parties have reached a settlement, but the terms are extremely confidential.
Jon filed documents in a Pennsylvania court back in April, where he requested primary custody of his eight children, and demanded the chance to renegotiate his child support obligations.
However, soon after the papers were filed John fired his lawyer, and accused him of filing the papers from primary custody without his permission. Instead, John insists that he only wanted a more flexible custody schedule that would enable him to spend more time with his kids.
Bitter about Kate’s gigs on TLC and Dancing with the Stars, Jon called her an “absentee Mom” and a “shameless self promoter.” Kate remained firm that unemployed Jon would still have to pay child support, despite reports that she was paid, “hundreds of thousands of dollars” to terrorize her partner Tony Dovolani on the dancing reality show.
The drama has been dialed down in the last few months, with a source finally confirming on Tuesday that an agreement had been reached. “An official agreement between Jon and Kate has been reached and they will be working together for the benefit of their children,” the source told TMZ, but refused to elaborate on the terms.
Lawyers for both Jon and Kate had no comment.
