Fall Fashion 2010: Trend Report

Are you ready for fall?

This month fashion magazines put out their coveted September issue, which brings to life the fashion trends we should expect for fall/winter 2010.  While we’re not quite ready to hang up our print dresses in favor of the neo double breasted jacket, checking out the latest fashion trends helps us get excited about the upcoming season.  Here’s a look at what you can expect:

Cut-out clothing

Cut out clothing (and accessories) are no longer exclusive to spring and summer wear.  The clothing style made it big on the fall catwalks, shown either directly on top of skin or “filled in” with sheer fabrics.  Rock this look on milder days, or to help you transition from summer to fall.

White Tights

Switch up your tights and leggings from black to white for a fresh change for the fall/winter seasons.  Go for opaque colours (avoid sheer) and pair your light stockings with a variety of looks.  The white rule even applies to over-the-knee stockings, which are a great alternative to leggings or tights.

Lingerie as outerwear

Thanks, Lady Gaga.  This doesn’t actually mean standing out in the cold in your skivvies, but underwear as outerwear mixes sexuality and femininity for the upcoming season.  This trend applies to exposed bras, intricate lacy tops and stockings, too.
