Remember American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook? Okay, me neither – but Fox News is reporting that the pretty country singer is starring in a new a reality show – about hunting! Check out a clip:
Cook’s new show “Goin’ Country” premiered this weekend on the cable network Versus, chronicling, the singer’s hunt for a record deal – and also her hunt for animals out in the wilderness. She’s only been hunting for six years, but Cook already has an eagle eye. Just last month she took down a black bear that had been getting into mischief in her horse barn in Eagle Point, Oregon.
“That bear had been causing trouble for five nights, eating grain and spooking my horses. He was making a mess of the whole barn,” Cook said. “One night I was walking in the house and I saw something standing in the door of my barn and I got him in one shot.”
Cook’s weapon of choice is as Browning 270 Winchester short magazine rifle. “It’s my trusty rifle and I use it for as much hunting and animals as I can take down,” she said. “It’s one shot, one kill.” Hmm…sounds like a good name for a country song, don’t you think?
You can watch eight episodes of the girl, the guitar and her gun. “I’m fighting for my music career and we’re working on that and hunting season is coming up so I’m taking a lot of people out hunting,” Cook said. “Both things take the same instincts.” Ohh, I get it. Still don’t think I’m gonna watch.
