Megan Fox Donates Appearance Fee to Abuse Shelter

Megan FoxMegan Fox landed the lead female role in Eminem’s smash hit “Love the Way You Lie” video, but instead of pocketing the cash from the cameo, she has donated her appearance fee to the Sojourn House, a shelter for abused women.

The song, featuring Rihanna, is centered around domestic abuse, so it is fitting Fox donated her undisclosed fee to Sojourn, which “provides battered women and their children a safe space to regroup, rebuild, and reestablish their self-esteem and lives.”

Fox filmed the video alongside “Lost” actor Dominic Monaghan, which will premier tonight, Thursday August 5 on MTV at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The exact concept of the video is still shrouded in mystery, but the pair was seen getting hot and heavy while filming on a rooftop.

The song is about an abusive relationship, which is a topic Rihanna has dealt with under the scrutinizing eye of the public. “It was believable for us to do a record like that, but it was also something that needed to be done and the way he did it was so clever,” Rihanna said. “He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it’s something that a lot people don’t have a lot of insight on, so this song is a really, really powerful song and it touches a lot of people.”

“Joseph and I worked pretty closely together to make sure we got this right,” Eminem explained in a press release. “Trying to make this tough subject work visually is a challenge. It was great to have Rihanna, Megan and Dominic onboard for this. They really brought it and made this video super-powerful.”
