Jennifer Aniston Retard Comment Sparks Controversy!
Jennifer Aniston is usually polite, poised and well-spoken but her appearance on today’s episode of Regis & Kelly has sparked fury in many viewers.
So what did the high profile actress say that has everyone up in arms? No, it wasn’t a comment supporting single parenting which would be “detrimental to society” (right Bill O’Reilly?) but a statement she made referring to herself as a retard.
As you can see in the video below, Jen calls herself a retard when referring to dressing up for photo shoots. Immediate after the comment, Regis and the majority of the audience laugh in response.
Is calling someone a retard in replacement of the word idiot or dumbass offensive to mentally challenged individuals? Yes – and while I’m sure Jen wasn’t maliciously trying to offend anyone, she needs to be more cautious when speaking in public.
Role models who look up to Jen need to know that using that word in a negative manner is unacceptable and we’re expecting a statement from her publicist any minute now which will confirm that Jen feels the same way.
Everyone makes mistakes but it’s important to own up to them.
