Michael J. Fox Returns to TV

Michael J FoxMichael J. Fox will be returning to the small screen this fall.  The Canadian actor, who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, has signed on to appear on The Good Wife, opposite ER alum, Julianna Margulies.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Michael will play, Simon Canning, a lawyer described as so “shrewd and cynical” that he uses his neurological condition to gain favor with his clients.

Executive producers and creators of the show are of course thrilled to have Michael joining them for their show’s upcoming season.

Robert and Michelle King told ET, “We’re absolutely thrilled that Michael has agreed to play this role.  His intelligence as an actor, combined with his incredible comic timing will really bring this smart, cynical lawyer to life.”

Season two of The Good Wife premiers September 28th on CBS.

Michael J. Fox has focused on advocating for finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis with the degenerative disorder in 1998.  To date, the Michael J. Fox Foundation has funded almost $196 million in research that can lead to the creation of better Parkinson’s treatments.
