The Miss Universe 2010 pageant airs this coming Monday but we already have the early favorites to win this year.
The three top women in the running to win the coveted title of Miss Universe 2010 are all beautiful and are all taking an early lead when it comes to fan’s ratings.
On the Miss Universe Official Website all of the contestants have been rated. Each woman gets a score out of 5 and Miss USA’s own Rima Fakih is doing well with a 2.57.
Miss Australia 2010, Jesinta Campbell will also do well in this year’s competition (in my opinion) and is sitting at 2.37 on the rating scale.
The woman leading the pack with a whopping 3.61 (none of the other contestants have scored higher than 3.0) is Miss Philippines 2010 Venus Raj. Her incredibly high score leads us to believe that Venus and Rima may end up going head to head in the finals.
We’re definitely rooting for Rima to take home the title this year but do you think she has what it takes to become Miss Universe?

The unusually high score that Miss Philippines is receiving is because of the votes received by rabidly enthusiastic pageant followers in the Philippines who vote, and vote, and vote on these electronic polls. Every year, the contestants from the Philippines receive unusually high scores in polls open to the public, only to get eliminated before even making it to the semi-finals. This year’s Miss Philippines is indeed a much better candidate than on previous years, so we’ll see if the fans from the Philippines get their wish this year…
The Philippines has an overwhelming population that are very much devoted to pageants.
Philippines is a VERY strong contender for the Miss Universe crown—-but Philippine’s greatest arch-rival is not Miss USA but MISS VENEZUELA…. since Venezuela produces among the many many beauty queens over the years. While the national costume grading does NOT count into the tabulation, the Swimsuit competition, Body measurements, Evening Gown competition and ULTIMATE Q&A portion is what counts in the totality of the Miss Universe contestant. Miss Philippines Maria Venus Raj BOASTS a 22 inch waistline that has prided among Filipinos while Marelisa Gibson of Venezuela takes on the great height and long legs.
Miss Universe is about beauty and brain. For the past years, beauties from each country were given equal footing, so many Miss Universe winners have colored skin, e.g., Miss India, Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Miss Zimbabwe, et.al. As such contestants will differ in their height, vital statistics, poise and their knacks in answering questions. Otherwise, African countries or the Carribeans will not send delegates. Then the title Miss Universe will become a misnomer. It must then be called Miss Caucasian. Hence, I will root on the contestant, whether African or Caucasian, who has the poise and the ability to communicate and influence people from all walks of life. She must live a legacy worth more than her win. A beauty which can leave a good imprint in the history of mankind.
Filipino are innately supportive of their compatriots be it in a pageant, sports, entertainment any other events. It’s their sense of nationalism that drive their enthusiasm to see a Filipino gaining recognition. We have seen how much support they delivered to Charice and Arnel of Journey that brought them to international stardom. The same with Manny Pacqiuao in boxing. Venezuela, Purto Rico and Colombia are as rabidly fanatic when it comes to beauty pageants. There are two differences that set the Philippines from these countries. Firstly, candidates from Venezuela, Colombia and Purto Rico go through long, rigid training preparations. What makes it extremely rabid is the excessive use of cosmetic surgeries that their delegates have to obtain the winning face and physique. Secondly, Filipinos use their technological literacy to support their representatives. Can you blame Filipinos for their technological capacity not being matched by Venezuela, Colombia and Puerto Rico?
Their candidadate, Venus Raj, is regal, articulate, naturally beautiful and chic. She has a narrative to share. She is a fighter and determined. These are reasons enough to make her win.

I am a Filipino and I give my support to people who I believe are worth the win.
Miss Raj really had to fight for her crown after being momentarily dethroned. She comes from a not so well to do family but worked hard to gain the celebrity status she has now.

I see miss USA no where near the finals. I think its a strong run between miss Phillipines, Venezuala,and miss Jamaica.
All candidates have the right to win the title but of course the one most righful is the brown girl from the Philippines.Wit, X factor, fines, what can you ask for?

I am currently staying at the Mandalay Bay during the Miss Universe Pageant. I have seen them and even ate at the same place with them one day. I tried to take pictures with them. Some were very mean about and some were very nice. Miss Philippines was very nice, even though i am not Philipino i took a picture with her. I tried to get as much people. Miss USA was kind enough too. I havent seen Miss Australia, and Miss China was very mean about it saying she was too busy while her fellow contestants had enough time. I had read a story about Venus Raj, Miss Philippines. She lived in a NIPA HUT for 20 years in the Philippines. She worked hard to climb up to the position she is in right now. She is also very gorgeous, a very exotic type of beauty. I think she has the potential to possibly win the title as Miss Universe 2010. Philipinos have alot of pride in their own country. This is why many people like Charice, Arnel, and Manny Pacquiao are where they stand today. Philipinos give as much support as they can give, they hope for the best for their own kind. Miss Philippines should definetely wear the Miss Universe crown monday night, or at least place in the top 5. She has a very nice National Costume, She has the brains, and i truly believe she can pass around peace with her reign. She is a credible and true person to my eyes. She deserves that top spot.

for the information of everybody…..one of the requirements in joining the ms.philippines is that the candidates should not undergo any surgical procedures that’s why we’re proud of venus raj…she never undergo in any surgical procedures…
i think all the girls are winners but you have to lok out for trinidad and tobago miss jamica and miss hati but all the best to whoever win
Though we have to reckon that this year’s Miss USA looks particularly exotic and witty. I find her gorgeous and different. I have a feeling that she will win. She has IT.

Didn’t care much for MU until Venus Raj was stripped of her title, fought back…and won. Granted, she may not be the prettiest amongst the candidates but she has heart. And you don’t see that in Latinas very often. They’re born and bred (literally) for pageants. And sorry, they all look alike…

My opinion, all the girls are HOT. I’d date all of them. From the ones that people have mentioned here, Miss Philippines definitely has an IT factor to her. She has wit, intelligence, and seems really kind. The kind of girl you’d want to have as the next Miss Universe. Regardless of polls and who votes, all these fine ladies were chosen from their respective country for a reason and they all have a chance to win it.
There is nothing for someone else, the crown definetly belong to Miss Venezuela again. Is the most beautiful among all the girls.

Miss Philippines deserves to become the new Miss Universe for simple reason that she possesses what it takes to become MU. Her immense power shines like a candle in the dark when her crown was stripped and later reinstated when she fought back for the glory she really deserved.
Miss Venus Raj of the Philippines can be a good Miss Universe because of her innate qualities of courage, character, and strength of conviction that will never bow before the majesty of politics , money, and influence. It can be best exemplified by her unswerving dedication to be of service of men to the Glory of GOD. A brown lass from a poor province in the Philippines in the person of Venus Raj never remiss her love to help the poorest among the poor the way she can. Such love for the needy can be an opening skirmish to a great battle championing the rights of women and children around the globe.
Whether Miss Venus Raj lose the crown because of politics in the MU ORG. headed by TRUMP(het) she would always be a winner because she gained through experience.

Miss USA – all the way, she is hotter this year than in many years before…look at the last Miss Universe that was from the USA – She was Hawaiian, Phllipino, and Black, so the exotic beauty really works well – Miss Mexico is pretty dang hot as well…but I think USA has real chance this year.
