The Miss Universe 2010 pageant is well underway and the final 5 contestants have just been announced.
The final five are: Miss Philippines, Miss Mexico, Miss Ukraine, Miss Jamaica and Miss Australia.
In my opinion – at this point in time – is that the only 2 women in the running are Mexico’s Jimena Navarrete and Philippine’s Venus Raj. If any of the other women win this pageant I will be surprised, however, it’s a live competition and anything can happen – as we saw with Miss USA’s Rima Fakih early elimination in the first round.
So the competition is down to five but I honestly believe Miss Mexico or Miss Philippines will take home the crown (personally I think Miss Mexico should win).
Who do you think should win Miss Universe 2010: Mexico or Philippes – or do you think one of the other ladies is still more deserving?
i really do think that Ms. Philippine’s will take home the Crown as MISS UNIVERSE 2010…. she got all the potentials, talents, intelligent for this 2010 pageant…. were so really proud of you inspite of everything happened… I know it’s GOD’s will for you… GODBLESS and MABUHAY!!!!

Her answer was really bad that’s why Ms. philippines lost and got 4th runner up. And the funny thing is that she was interviewed on TV and was asked the same question and she still blew it!
no, the answer was very appropriate. so she had no problem, so what’s your problem. mexico use a translator. philippines did not.
Miss Philippines had the potential to win tonight…until THAT notorious final question and her ANSWER to the question…which she allowed to let the crown slip away…HOW WOULD YOU HAVE ANSWERED THAT QUESTION?

That was a perfect question for her and she blew it!!!She could have answered it perfectly if she had thought of what happened to her to get the crown back as Ms.Philippines and tonite as one of the candidates at Top %.What a waste.She could have gotten the title .She had it all except for her answer….
I think she did well considering all the pressure and what she’d been through to be there. I think she really did not care anymore if she wins or not cause at that point she already prove what she can. And what the heck if she doesnt have any major major problem?

if miss venus rah answered properly or correctly the question of the judge it is 200 percent she will win the 2010 miss universe no doubt at all.
miss venus rah lost its because she gave 45 percent to philippnes and 40 percent for india.
even if Miss Philippines’ answer was plain and it seemed like it was not well thought of, Miss Mexico didn’t even answer her question!

The winners were placed by coincidence based on their actual scores as top 5 so for Venus Raj to get the crown it would be tough for her to get the nod of judges for the title. Miss Mexico also being the top favorite got a consistent high score and answered quite well. At any rate, Venus Raj did her best and Filipinos should be happy for her. Congrats, Miss Venus Raj!

i think the BB Pilipinas organisation should start using translators for their contestants. it is during the Q&A section when Ms. Phils. falters because the questions are asked in English and the natural instinct of a filipino born person is to translate the question into tagalog and then translate it back into english and the result becomes quite different. if she has a translator and answers in her indigenous language, therefore, she’d be able to express her answers in a more accurate manner. remember that they also look for contestants that are witty and quick thinkers.
In all fairness, I thought she had the most difficult question. A similar question is often asked during job interviews about what you consider as your weakness. It is a seemingly easy question that most peeps get stumped with. It is never easy to open up when ur put on the spot, not when there’s a lot at stake, like a job, and in her case, a crown. Peeps don’t realize the question is two-fold. It comes with a follow-up question giving you a chance to redeem yourself. It makes it even harder cuz ur answers would need to reconcile. Peeps fuck this question up all time thinking it is about the answer. No, it is about your honesty. It is a question where your are told not to reveal too much but any less would be considered mediocre. Imagine, all you have is 30 seconds, and ur in front of a big crowd cheering you up and you could not help thinking the crown is well within your reach, while in the back of ur mind, something is telling you, don’t fuck this one up. Now, hold yourself together, answer d fucking question, how honest and sensible can you get?
I agree with jayson. I think we should use an interpreter this time. because other title holders are using one. what the heck we care about the real answer they have without an interpreter. like with mexico, without an interpreter, can she even explain herself more??? I DON’T THINK SO! so for you guys, yeah venus’ answer is kinda like a slide but just be proud at least. at least she knows how to speak and understand english. instead of giving her negative feedbacks, why don’t you just support her? “crab mentality tlga oh!”
Ms.Venus could have done better, she could have used a translator like the other girls, it is very important to answer the question very well.Swallow your pride and use a translator if you think that would make you feel comfortable and buy you time.I’d rather have the best answer than to have the best body in the pageant.In any pageant wit and intelligent answers put you to atleast top 3.We have to understand that the individual represents the country and not just herself she represents the country and everyone else that is filipino , one reason we stay in the bottom most of the time because we always say ok lang yan, hindi ok ang ok lang,you go for the best and more than 100 percent effort! this whole thing makes me wish Ruffa Gutierrez can do it again, or Miriam Quiambao.or the gay guy from Ms.gay , gays give the best answer ever!
Ms. Raj has been a limelight of intrigues but she handled it! being in the top 5 is a big thing already and for us Filipinos to be proud of. There must have been one question thrown to the top 5 to evaluate exactly the variation and content of the finalists’ responses. Anyway, good job ms. raj and congratulations
I agree. Although I’m a Filipino, I still think her answer was a nonsense.
She was doing great until the question. First she ignores the question to try & win hearts, then she makes an incredibly weak attempt to answer what was a stupid question and then tries to do an advert again. She totally blew it and won the place she deserved as a result. Arrogant and over confident.

many people say that venus was stupid because she answer the question ungracefully..but i strongly disagree for what they were saying..she is the best a magnanimous, competent, creative candidate..and bihira lang ang makapasok sa top 10 or top 5..what a shame in saying that venus was not a great candidate….
# 9 pro venus but anti answer: para namang napakagaling mo. baka nga grade 1 lang ang natapos mo. baka nga sa screening pa lang ng bb. basurahan di ka pumasa. leche ka! dapat maging proud ka kahit 4th runner up lang nakuha ng pilipinas. baliw kang bakla ka!

Could’ve served her well if she used a translator. Not sure if its ego, stubborness, or denial that she’s “fluent in english”. Evidently english is not her mother tongue and the tendency for typical pinoys who’s not that bright is to worry about the grammar more than the substance when trying to express themselves in English.
I hope this is a lesson to learn.
