Mariah Carey Pregnant? Nick Cannon Sending Mixed Signals
Mariah Carey has been sporting a fuller figure lately, but not a clear baby bump. Is the pop diva preggers? Her husband Nick Cannon won’t say yes – but he won’t say no, either. On 92.3′s “Rollin” this morning, Nick spoke with gossip blogger Perez Hilton about the pregnancy rumors (click that link for the audio).
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again — when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her,” Nick said.
Perez pointed out that there comes a point at which there’s no denying a pregnancy. Nick answered: “Honestly … I say this to you so you can tell whoever it is you’ve got to tell, we all know it’s extremely personal, and it is for a woman to deal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff.”
“We know that we’re public figures and that’s something, but … that’s something that you want to keep near and dear … until you’re 100 percent sure in any situation,” Nick said. ”There’s a certain time limit that you’re supposed to wait before you actually can officially say that you are. You’ve got to take all those things into factor and it gets really heightened when you’re one of the most famous people in the world because you don’t want to mislead anybody.”
I get what he’s saying – if God forbid something happened to the baby and Mariah didn’t carry it to term, she wouldn’t want the whole world knowing about it and talking about it. But the fact that Nick won’t just say “no, she’s not pregnant,” makes me think that she is – or at least that they’re really trying!
