Lady Gaga Poses as Statue of Liberty in Lingerie

It might be the most ladylike we’ve ever seen Miss Gaga. US Weekly reports that Lady Gaga is on the cover of the new V fashion magazine, dressed up as the Statue of Liberty – well, kind of. She shows off her sculpted curves in a black lacy bra and underwear, has some fabric draped around her hips, holds a paper torch and tops it off with a crown of her own gravity-defying hair. Next to her, fashion designer Marc Jacobs looks pensive in a tuxedo. The picture was taken by photographer Mario Testino.

Stephan Gan, V’s editor, explains: ”Just as the Statue of Liberty was France’s gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York’s greatest gift to pop culture and fashion…she has become a bonafide genius and we can safely declare her our muse.”

What do you think, New York? Should the 24 year-old Gaga be crowned the symbol of NYC culture? I guess she would be cooler than a Kardashian or Paris Hilton being crowned the poster girl of LA.  You can’t deny Gaga’s far-reaching influence; she’s up to more than 6 million followers on Twitter!
