The new American Idol judges were officially announced today during a live press conference and fans of the hit show seem to have mixed reactions about the results.
Anxious fans waited for the highly-anticipated announcement, all the while knowing that Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were the frontrunners and most likely to become the next panel – and they were right.
Today’s news conference revealed Steven Tyler as the first new judge and fans we’re very disappointed for the most part. “Ughh, Steven” one fan wrote in the live chat while another said “This blows.”
Steven seems like someone who will appeal more to the older generation but not so much to anyone in their teens or twenties. He also doesn’t seem like he has a comedic side or is even remotely interesting, although that’s clearly just my opinion.
The next judge Ryan Seacrest revealed during the live conference was Jennifer Lopez. Shocking, right? Wrong. Everyone already new this as well. Regardless, I’m ecstatic that Jennifer will be on the panel. I love her music, I love her style and I love her movies and I’m sure her time on Idol will be no different. At least one good choice, Fox.
So there you have it, the new panel will officially be made up of Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
