Sorry, Paris. You’ll have to stick with the stateside sushi. CNN reports that Paris Hilton was refused entry to Japan on Wednesday because of a drug conviction, immigration officials said. She’s expected to return to the U.S. this afternoon.
Paris tried to get into Japan because of “business obligations planned many months earlier,” her spokesman said. ”Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.” Since when do you take a business trip for “fans” ?
But Japan won’t let in foreigners who are on probation – and Paris pleaded guilty to a drug charge earlier in the week in Las Vegas, Nevada. It could have been worse; a felony cocaine possession charge was dropped after the socialite entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of drug possession and obstruction of an officer. She got no jail time, instead being sentenced to a year on probation, a $2,000 fine and 200 hours of community service. (Maybe she can help find designer purses to house tiny dogs in need?)
Looks like Paris is ours for a year…
