Michael Bolton vs. Bruno Tonioli: Who’s Side are You On?
Micheal Bolton and Dancing with the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli are in the middle of a war of words this week after Bruno gave Michael some harsh criticism and a remarkably low score on Monday night’s show.
Bruno told Michael that his fox trot may have been the worst they’ve seen in 11 seasons and gave him a score of 3/10 but Michael – and many fans of the show – think Bruno was too hard on Michael.
After the incident, Michael continued to hold a grudge and even said that he wanted Bruno to publicly apologize for his actions and be punished by the show for his comments.
Why on Earth would Bruno have to apologize for giving his opinion and providing a score for a dancing contestant. It’s absurd.
Here’s what I think:
- It’s Bruno’s job to judge the dances. He did not criticize Michael Bolton as a person or as a singer but simply made observations about his dance which, was in fact, tragic to watch.
- The judges have made cruel comments to other contestants this season – and in past seasons – and have never had to apologize or receive punishment for their actions. Last week, Bruno told The Situation that he was going to look like a jackass if he continued on like that and no one even batted an eye.
- Michael needs to get off his high horse and realize that he was on a dancing competition that involves judging and harsh criticism. If he doesn’t like it, he can leave the dance floor – oh wait, he already did that last night, didn’t he?
Michael Bolton should not be treated any differently than any of the other contestants just because he’s Michael Bolton. Hopefully last night’s elimination was a well-deserved blow to his ego.
