It’s time to prank a new generation. Deadline Hollywood reports that MTV is finalizing a deal to bring back the series Punk’d, with Justin Bieber in the hosting role that Ashton Kutcher held in the original celebrity hidden-camera show.
Punk’d went off the air in 2007, after 4 seasons and 69 episodes. On it, celebs would be tricked by Kutcher and others into thinking a variety of elaborate schemes were real, from car accidents to demolished houses.
Kutcher and the Biebs actually have a lot in common, given that they are the #3 and #5 most popular Twitter members, respectively, with over 5 million followers each. Punk’d won’t be Bieber’s first foray into TV; he appeared in the dramatic season premiere of CSI and has also tested out his comic chops on Saturday Night Live.
