Professionally speaking, this has been a great week for NFLer Brett Favre. Socially speaking, it’s the complete opposite.
Favre has found himself in the center of this week’s biggest sex scandal. After alleged racy nude photos of the Minnesota Viking (which he may have reportedly sent to his co-worker Jenn Sterger) hit the internet, Brett knew he was in for a ride. Today, DeadSpin.com released voicemails left from Favre (or someone who sounds exactly like him) on Jenn’s phone – along with MySpace messages, which is only adding fuel to the media fire.
A few racy pics and a couple mildly steamy voicemails; what’s the big deal, right? Wrong. Brett is supposed to be happily married to his wife of 14 years, Deanna Favre. The two have two daughters and a grandson together. News like this could tear the family apart.
Not surprisingly, Deanna looks like a slightly older version of Jenn (see photos above).
While sites like DeadSpin and The NY Post continue to post evidence of his efforts to pursue Sterger (wich reportedly started after Brett joined the Jets in 2008), Favre continues to dodge the speculation. He was asked about the report during a press conference yesterday where he said he didn’t want to respond to the allegations. “No, I’m not getting into that. I’ve got my hands full with the jets,” he said.
Jenn seemed to want no part in the scandal. In May 2009, she left the Jets (the team they both worked for at the time of the affair) and refuses to go on-record to talk about her encounters with Favre.
DeadSpin.com has the video (which includes photos, voicemails and other evidence proving the affair) on their website, if you want to check it out (warning, some parts are NSFW).
Do you think Brett Favre pursued Jenn Sterger?
