Their engagement lasted only a few weeks, but Crystal Bowersox and her new husband are hardly strangers. Longtime friends before things turned romantic a few months ago, the American Idol finalist married her musician boyfriend Brian Walker in Chicago on Sunday.
“Our lives have never made more sense than they do right now,” Crystal excitedly told PEOPLE. “I can’t believe how incredibly lucky we are to have found so much laughter, love, and light within each other. We’re one happy WalkerSox family.”
True to form, Crystal wore a hemp and cotton gown from Tara Lynn, created in the designer’s solar powered studio.
Among their 60 guests were Crystal’s son, Tony from a previous relationship who acted as the ring bearer, season 9 American Idol contestant Didi Benami, and ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ actor Lance Barber.
The couple, who announced their engagement in September celebrated their reception with performances from the groom and several of their musician pals.
Soon Crystal will return to the studio, where she’s working on her debut album.
