When someone sends you to a LAS VEGAS shot drink showcase you do a little dance, scream in delight & accept before they can take it away from you! The Harlem Kruiden Shot Drink showcase at the Palms Casino was no different. Bartenders from all over the US won the chance to showcase their favorite Harlem Kruiden shot – from vanilla bean to bacon flavored, the mixologists dazzled us with presentation and flavor. Twirlit represented in full force and I have to say.. it was pretty amazing.
For those that don’t know. HARLEM® is an 80 proof kruiden-based shot drink imported from Holland. Best served ice cold, HARLEM is a bold, smooth blend of fresh herbs and spices with a hint of mandarin. HARLEM began rolling out in targeted markets across the U.S. in fall 2009.
The event begin and the shots started rolling in. Miami was killing it with their shot. Of all the shots, Nick Nistico’s (JB’s On the Beach) Harlem Night Nurse was our favorite. A mixture of gin, chocolate and orange make this shot unforgetable. Here’s the recipe if you’d like to try it at home.

Orange Oil
In a small shaker tin, add the first 4 ingredients. Add ice and shake it throroughly. Twist an orange peel over the shot glass allowing thenatural oils to flabor the inside of he glass. Strain the shot and pour into the shot glass.
