Miners Mistress Greets Him After Rescue (Photo!)
All 33 Chilean miners were pulled to safety Wednesday, after spending 69 days trapped in the San Jose gold and copper mine. Each appeared to have come through their ordeal remarkably well. Though for some, returning to the surface is just the beginning of their struggle.
Yonni Barrios was one of the 33 miners trapped underground. He famously asked both his wife and girlfriend to meet him on the day of his rescue, proving that spending an extended period of time underground can make you crazy. Or maybe he was just crazy to begin with?
“He is either very cheeky or very idiotic,” a source within the rescue team said about Yonni’s now infamous request.
However, he may not be the only miner who had complicated home issues waiting above the surface. According to reports, another Barrios – Carlos – “has a five-year-old son with a woman he has not divorced and his girlfriend of seven months is pregnant.”
While yet another miner is said to have four women claiming his affections –“a wife he has not yet divorced, his current live-in girlfriend, a third woman who claims to have had his son and another who says she is having an affair with him.”
No word on whether the other wives, girlfriends and mistresses faced off before the dramatic rescue. However, Yonni’s wife Marta remains happy that she denied her husband’s request to be there as he emerged from the mine. (Susanna was there to meet Yonni – pictured right.)
“I’m glad I didn’t go to the mine, it was the correct decision. It would have been wrong if the two of us were there – I have children and grandchildren. That kind of situation wouldn’t have been good for my family, and my sons come first.”
