Isn’t Every Day National Boss’s Day?

Today is National Boss’s Day, and workers across the nation are taking the time to be thankful for everything their bosses do for them, like ask them to work overtime without pay, expect them to do do the work of laid-off colleagues, require they fetch lattes and dry cleaning even though it’s not in the job description, and know everything about them even though they know nothing about you.

Okay, okay. Maybe some bosses actually appreciate their employees (and maybe unicorns like dancing in fields of rainbows). If you want to show your boss how much you care, you might check out these free printable Boss’s Day cards from BlueMountain.com. Hoover Web Design also offers free printable cards that look like award certificates.

Or you could send your boss a Happy Boss’s Day message by using my favorite snarky e-card site, Someecards.com. Some of your options:

“Sorry I wasted so much of the work day picking out a Boss’s Day card for you”

“Thanks for being the kind of boss who’d never get 33 of us trapped in a dank hole 2300 feet below ground for 69 days” (ooh, topical!)

“I’d love to take you out for Boss’s day but I can’t afford the kind of restaurants you like”

“You’re the first boss I haven’t wanted to push down a flight of stairs”

Happy Boss’s Day. Maybe by this time next year you’ll have hired an intern you can be a horrible boss to.
