Mariah Carey Confirms She’s Pregnant
Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she is pregnant! The Huffington Post reports that in an interview with The Today Show, the 40 year-old singer said that she and her husband Nick Cannon, 30, are expecting their first child. ”Yes, we are pregnant, it’s true,” she told Billy Bush. ”It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to … hold on to a shred of privacy, and that was not easy.”
Rumors have been buzzing for months, but Mariah declined to comment on the pregnancy. Shortly after she and Nick were married, she had a miscarriage. ”It was really sad, so we really had to absorb this and take it in,” she said.
Nick said that Mariah was able to be strong and laugh for the press, but later she was “crying herself to sleep.”
Luckily they now have happy news to report – and even though Mariah is 40, the baby was conceived naturally. But will the little baby songbird be a boy or a girl? Mariah and Nick say that they don’t even know. The baby is due in the spring.
