Taylor Swift is getting into the perfume business. E! News reports that the 20 year-old songstress has signed a deal with Elizabeth Arden to release her signature scent next fall. With her new album Speak Now poised to be the first album in two years to sell more than a million units in a week, you might expect Taylor’s new scent to smell like money. How about something that will make Jake Gyllenhaal want to date me? I’ll take a bath in that. I’ll skip John Mayer though, thanks.
“I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory…the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts,” Taylor said in a statement to WWD.com. “Lately I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance.”
Elizabeth Arden, which has previously developed perfumes with Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Hilary Duff, says that Taylor will be involved in developing, packaging and marketing the scent. Jennifer Aniston also recently unveiled her signature fragrance, Lolavie.
