Bachelorette Star Julien Hug Cause of Death: Suicide, Says Friend
Yesterday, we reported that Bachelorette star Julien Hug (who was on Jillian Harris’ season of the show) was found dead in a California desert. At that time, there were no reports to as to what happened to the 35-year-old San Deigo man, except that he was on his way to help his family manage their newest resprt in Palm Desert, CA.
Today, a friend is telling RadarOnline.com that FBI officials have told him Julien committed suicide and shot himself in the head.
Tom Ulrich, a reported friend of Hug told the site the following:
“I’m completely in shock. When my FBI friends told me Julien shot himself in the head, I fell to my knees in disbelief.
“This is a heavy day for us here,” Ulrich says as he dined at Mille Fleurs restaurant – which is owned by Julien’s family – early Friday morning. “With all the wealth and privilege Julien had, I can’t imagine why he would take his own life. I can’t believe this has happened. Why oh why would such a beautiful man take his own life?
“He was their only son. They must be devastated. They are usually here at the restaurant most nights, hanging out and laughing with everyone. Tonight, it’s just not the case. No one has seen or spoken to Bertrand or Denise. My heart goes out to them. I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re going through.”
Ulrich also revealed that Hug had seemed “a bit sad” over the last few weeks but it was “nothing to be overly concerned about.”
Police are still investigating the death and, while Ulrich insists it was a suicide, there are no confirmed reports as to the cause of death.
